Role: Aerospace Estimator
Location: Barnoldswick
Salary: 40,000 - 55,000 DOE
We’re looking for a Estimator to join a fast-growing aerospace and defense manufacturer in the UK. This role is critical to supporting global programs by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across CNC machining, structural components, composites, and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate cost estimates for aerospace components and assemblies (machining, surface treatment, composites, etc.).
- Analyse technical drawings and 3D CAD models to determine materials, labour, and tooling requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to evaluate feasibility and identify cost efficiencies.
- Source and validate supplier quotes for materials and subcontracted services.
- Support customer communications to clarify requirements and propose cost-effective alternatives.
- Maintain estimation tools, databases, and pricing models to ensure accuracy and consistency.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace/defense estimation or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, composites (lay-up, curing, assembly), and structural aerospace components.
- Able to interpret technical drawings and CAD data (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.).
- Comfortable with MRP/ERP systems and cost modelling tools.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, coatings, and quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
