Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer (Gear Manufacturing) is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining robust manufacturing processes for gears and Power Take Offs assembly. This role focuses on improving safety, quality, throughput, and cost by applying process engineering principles across machining, heat treatment, finishing, inspection, and assembly. The engineer partners closely with production, quality, maintenance and supply chain to ensure stable, capable processes that meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
APQP, PPAP, FMEA & Control plan updates
Responsible for managing all tooling and clamping devices (maintenance, stock and inventory) and new tooling development
Support for product validations and deviations and execution engineering changes
Six sigma / Kaizen and Continuous improvement projects
Manufacturing Engineering control documentation (Process sheet, SOP, Setup sheet, Routings, Work instructions, standard work)
Customer support and response to claims or quality issues
Ensure safety procedures and corrective actions to eliminate risks
Develop layer audits to ensure proper functioning of existing systems
Update SAP ME ERP information related to manufacturing process (BOM, work centers and data collection)
SPC monitoring (CP/CPK) and measurement system (MSA/Gage R&R)
Continuous improvement activities related to the manufacturing process
Responsible for managing layout modifications
Lead problem solving analysis
Use purchase system to request material, consumables, tooling’s or services.
Qualifications
Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering or related
International quality standards – Core tools
