Barnes Aerospace is seeking an experienced Indirect Commodities Manager to join its team and be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across a diverse range of indirect categories, including IT, Engineering, Facilities, Operations, Logistics, and broader corporate services. The Indirect Commodities Manager will be skilled in supplier relationship management, cost optimization, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive value and enhance operational efficiency. The Indirect Commodities Manager will possesses deep expertise in procurement best practices, spanet intelligence, and supply chain risk mitigation.
Core Responsibilities:
- Solicit indirect product & services quotations, perform cost analysis functions, lead cross functional teams to achieve program cost goals.
- Participate in supplier selections and onboarding of new sources for indirect commodity spend.
- Interface with cross functional departments including Travel, IT, HR, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Facilities and other departments as needed to achieve the smooth flow of products and services in order to maintain committed schedules to customers.
- Maintain current knowledge of spanet conditions that affect overall cost, lead time, and availability of raw material.
- Maintain aggressive follow-up process to ensure quality and schedule compliance.
- Continuously improve supplier performance by understanding business requirements and aligning suppliers with business needs.
- Participate in supplier quarterly reviews and communicate expectations.
- Work closely with Purchasing Managers to negotiate favorable contracts and long term agreements.
- Must meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators on cost, quality, delivery and cash flow.
- Identify new suppliers (Including Apollo (LPP) Leveraged Purchasing Programs) to evaluate / engage as potential future strategic partners.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience across end-to-end indirect commodity spend, supply chain experience, preferrable in support of aerospace manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and supplier relationship management.
- Knowledge of ERP systems as applicable to planning & purchasing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent advanced skills with Microsoft Suite software (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Excellent negotiation skills. Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork orientation. effectively able to interact with all levels within the organization.
- A deep understanding of indirect supply chain management, and relevant technologies.
- Proficient in purchasing of software, in support of IT, Engineering, Finance, Operations and HR functions.
- Ability to meet supply chain goals, reduce total landed costs and develop supplier partnerships.
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to secure favorable pricing and contracts.
- Experience with advanced data analysis and visualization tools. Creative thinker and problem-solving capabilities.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required in business administration, supply chain, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
