With a strong commitment to operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and a “Destination Zero” safety culture, the organization is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead enterprise health, safety, environmental, and operational risk initiatives across multi-site aviation operations.

This role offers the opportunity to influence operational safety culture at scale while partnering directly with leadership teams to drive continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and organizational accountability across flight operations, maintenance, and environmental programs.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality, the Manager, HSEQ is responsible for leading and administering Health, Safety, Environmental, and Safety Management System (SMS) programs across operations.

The role oversees HSE program development, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting aviation operations, airworthiness activities, environmental programs, and operational leadership teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong HSE regulatory knowledge with operational leadership capability, aviation or industrial field experience, and a proactive approach to safety culture development, compliance management, and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead administration and continuous improvement of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS)

  • Support operational leadership in driving enterprise-wide HSE performance and accountability

  • Manage and coordinate Operational Leadership Team meetings in alignment with SMS requirements

  • Lead or facilitate accident, incident, and occurrence investigations, including corrective action tracking and closure

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programs aligned with regulatory, operational, and customer requirements

  • Ensure timely completion of OSHA, Department of Labor, ISNetworld, PEC, and related compliance reporting

  • Analyze HSE and SMS performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

  • Generate recurring HSE performance reports and operational dashboards for leadership review

  • Support safe and compliant flight operations, maintenance activities, and environmental programs

  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures across operational sites

  • Create and facilitate HSE-related training and awareness initiatives

  • Conduct field visits, operational audits, and site assessments to reinforce HSE compliance and culture

  • Drive proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives across operational environments

  • Partner with operational teams, regulatory agencies, customers, and leadership stakeholders on HSE matters

  • Promote organizational core values and support a culture centered around safety, accountability, and operational excellence

Supervision & Professional Development

  • Reports to the Director of HSEQ

  • Provides leadership to HSEQ support and environmental personnel

  • Works closely with operational leadership, maintenance teams, field personnel, regulatory agencies, and customers

  • Opportunity to influence enterprise HSE strategy, operational risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Exposure to aviation operations, environmental compliance, safety systems, incident investigations, and executive-level reporting

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred

  • Equivalent combination of education and significant HSE leadership experience considered

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HSE management or operational safety leadership role required

  • Aviation industry experience strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting multi-site operational environments preferred

  • Prior experience with incident investigations, auditing, human factors, and organizational development initiatives preferred

  • Experience implementing or supporting HSE data acquisition or safety technology platforms preferred

Domain Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, DEQ, and related HSE regulatory requirements

  • Understanding of aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles and operational risk management

  • Knowledge of incident investigation methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action management

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance programs and operational safety processes

  • Understanding of industrial and operational safety best practices within regulated environments
