Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Propulsion leadership team has an exciting opportunity for a B-52 Propulsion Engine Systems, Senior Manager (level L) to join our team in Everett, WA.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager will lead the engineering organization in supporting engine systems development, production, and fleet support activities. This role requires strong engineering expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
As the Senior Manager of Propulsion Engine Systems, you will hold engineering responsibility for Engine Integration, Engine Build-Up (EBU), Strut Build-Up (SBU), Auxiliary Starter Air Unit (ASAU), Installation Analysis, and Engine Performance, Operability, and Controls. You will lead teams in critical development and integration activities, evaluate safety concerns, and ensure that work is managed and matured in alignment with the program schedule. Externally, you will foster relationships with key engine partners and suppliers to address development, production, and fleet issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for financial and headcount management through program integration and for developing and supporting the transition to a recurring statement of work.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering.
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of professional experience in the aerospace industry.
2+ years of experience in management or lead engineer role on a project or team
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in commercial aircraft system design, analysis, and certification.
Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges.
Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
Project management or similar experience planning, integrating, and executing project or program deliverables
