About the Role
PDS Defense is seeking a skilled Engine Technician to support turbine engine and APU maintenance operations in Tucson, AZ. This position plays a critical role in ensuring aircraft safety, reliability, and compliance through detailed inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and technical manuals
- Inspect engines, APUs, and related systems for damage, wear, and airworthiness
- Troubleshoot discrepancies using maintenance logs and technical documentation
- Execute engine/APU removals & installations (R&R) and component modifications
- Conduct borescope inspections, operational checks, and functional testing
- Repair or replace defective components using appropriate tools and equipment
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenance publications
- Perform and assist with engine runs and system checks
- Operate ground support equipment (GSE) such as power units and hydraulic mules
- Ensure all work is properly documented and compliant with safety standards
- Support team members with general aircraft maintenance duties
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License – Required
- 8+ years of turbine engine maintenance experience (line or shop)
- 2+ years of experience on corporate jet aircraft
- Hands-on experience with:
- Engine removals and installations (R&R)
- Borescope inspections
- Maintenance documentation and reporting
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Preferred Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience performing engine runs and functional checks
- Familiarity with a variety of turbine engine platforms and APUs
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
