Role Summary
* In this role, you will support commercial derivative airplane programs as a Product Review Engineer 4. You will make engineering decisions, provide hands-on support on the factory floor, collaborate with production personnel, and ensure that product and process issues are resolved throughout the aircraft lifecycle. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work all shifts and participate in weekend or daily overtime as needed. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* Engineering degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience with the design of structural and electrical rework/repairs to restore the aircraft or system to original design capability.
* Previous Commercial Material Review experience with airlines or similar programs.
* The ability to obtain client approval for PL1 access. Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude access.
* The ability to work onsite in San Antonio, TX, and relocate at own expense if needed.
* U.S. Person status for purposes of export compliance. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* Experience reading and creating engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and design manuals.
* A minimum of 8 years of experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
* Experience researching engineering designs to develop defect solutions for product or process issues.
* Experience assisting with analyses, root cause analysis, and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
* Experience collecting, researching, and evaluating issues for product/process improvement opportunities.
* Materials Review Board (MRB)/Universal Product Review (UPR) approval authority certification.
* Executive interior installation/design experience.
* Modification and repair experience on wide-body aircraft. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Apply broad knowledge of company design and engineering principles.
* Assess and resolve product and process issues through the product lifecycle.
* Lead research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer and design interim and final engineering solutions.
* Lead others to analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
* Develop and implement product and process improvements.
* Use innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex nonconforming conditions and detect deviations.
* Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues and recommend and manage complex resolutions.
* Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
* Represent the engineering community in the build through the post-production environment.
* Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with company standards.
* Develop customer correspondence for the continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
* Lead activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support teams.
* Design appropriate jacking and shoring schemes, lead the design of interim structural repairs, and conduct static strength analysis.
* Develop and lead non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards, ensuring supplier and build partner compliance with company standards.
* Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal or external customers. Physical Requirements

* Able to work in a factory environment with daily exposure to stairs and trip hazards.
* Able to work in areas with high noise levels.
* Able to handle chemical hazards safely, including breathing and handling requirements.
* Able to enter and move around airplanes during multiple stages of build.
