ENGINEER 2 INTERIORS
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITIONSUMMARY:
Providesintermediate level engineering drawings related to interior cabin furnishingand components in support of VIP aircraft completions.
EXAMPLESOF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develops intermediate level design data packages for interior cabin furnishing in support of VIP aircraft completions.
- Utilizes airworthiness requirements and the project specification to create drawings.
- Creates and reviews engineering drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc.
- Performs research and design relating to the production of engineering drawings necessary for installation and completion of custom aircraft interiors.
- Prepares intermediate level interior cabin furnishings reports, Engineering Authorizations (EA’s), drawings, and EO’s.
- Develops intermediate level interior cabin furnishings modifications and installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations.
- Works within engineering team to provide instructions to drafting department to complete design.
- Identifies discrepancies and/or problems with drawings before releasing to production and implements correction action to ensure the timely release.
- Provides intermediate level technical support and engineering disposition to resolve aircraft engineering/interior cabin furnishing problems.
- Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve moderate to complex issues.
- Maintains intermediate level awareness of FAA regulations and required compliance of FARs, ADs, SBs.
- Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets completion aircraft requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION,EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Structural Aerospace Engineering or comparable.
- 2 – 4 years experience in Design, Structural or Interior Cabin Furnishings, or equivalent combination of other related work experience.
REQUIREDSKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AutoCAD required); Solidworks Preferred.
- Aviation background and electrical systems experience required.
- Strong knowledge of industry mechanical systems and documentation standards.
- Experience with electrical systems and components.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.

The office building where this position works is a typicaloffice environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverseenvironmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the work station. Theemployee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat,cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel workinginside or outside of a Hangar.
