About the OpportunityWe are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of avionics systems on commercial aircraft, including large regional and long‑haul platforms. This role is based exclusively in Marana, Arizona and supports regulated Part 145 repair station operations focused on quality, safety, and compliance.
This opportunity is well suited for technicians who are comfortable working complex avionics systems on large transport aircraft and are open to flexible shift assignments.
Compensation, Per Diem & Start Timeline- $39.12/hr total compensation
- Per diem available for those who qualify (split per diem structure)
- Target start timeframe: June–July
- Flexible shifts available (1st or 2nd shift)
- Basic avionics tool set required
What You’ll Do- Research and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical data
- Inspect avionics components, wiring, and assemblies for defects such as improper installation, damaged wiring, or faulty connections
- Test avionics equipment using oscilloscopes, digital meters, counters, and circuit analyzers under simulated or actual operating conditions
- Troubleshoot radar, radio, navigation, autopilot, and compass systems
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective avionics components in accordance with approved data
- Calibrate avionics systems to ensure compliance with specifications and airworthiness standards
- Perform avionics installations and modifications on commercial aircraft
- Work on aircraft larger than CRJ‑900s, including Boeing and Airbus platforms (e.g., Boeing 777)
- Accurately document all maintenance activity using approved repair station and customer documentation
- Follow FAA regulations, internal policies, and safety procedures at all times
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to complete work within schedule requirements
What We’re Looking For- 3–5+ years of avionics maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting expertise across avionics and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with avionics installations and modifications
- Experience working on commercial aircraft larger than CRJ‑900
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficiency using avionics test equipment
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including working at heights, confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work assigned shifts with flexibility
Additional Qualifications- Experience in a Class IV 14 CFR Part 145 repair station or similar environment
- Familiarity with long‑haul and regional commercial aircraft operations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team‑based hangar environment
- Comfort working around ground support equipment and in high‑noise environments
- Adaptability to a contract‑to‑hire environment where conversion is performance‑based
Work Environment & ScheduleWork is performed in aircraft maintenance hangars and on the flight line supporting commercial aircraft maintenance activities. Shifts include:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Overtime is approved as needed. The environment involves exposure to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, working at heights, and confined spaces such as fuel tanks. Appropriate PPE is required and provided.
