Role IntroductionReports to: Solution Lead
This role is part of the Solution Centre in our Information Technology (IMT) department who strive for continuous improvements so that we can provide you with a seamless experience with Cathay.
As the Solution Analyst, you will play a crucial role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive the end-to-end solution development of software applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-friendly applications which reflect Cathay’s vision to becoming one of the world’s greatest service brands.
With your expertise, skills and knowledge in solution delivery, you will be assigned to be part of our Operations Planning (OPN) solution team to work on systems which support all of our flight and service delivery operations. Enabling you to gain exposure in aviation operations that only a world-renowned airline can give.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse requirements and assess detailed solutions options from a system perspective
- Support solution design by contributing deep technical expertise to ensure high-level decisions are executable
- Full conversion, creation, alignment, traceability and successful mapping requirements into functional and technical specifications
- To ensure requirements are mapped and documented to functional and technical specifications for software development projects
- Contribute expertise in supporting the development of technical specification and
- Hands-on implementation and lead requirement workshops and convert business pain points into structured, deliverable tasks
- Manage project delivery using Agile methodologies, coordinating with Business Units, Product Owners, and Development teams to ensure alignment with project goals and user expectations
- Oversee and QA the development of all solution components ensuring this meets requirements and complies with all relevant Cathay standards
- Contribute and follow standards and frameworks for development
- Collaborate with other IM domains to drive innovation and keep abreast of the business strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends
Requirements- Tertiary education with a minimum of 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years of development and support
- Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics with internal and external stakeholders
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
- Proven track record in delivering IT projects across the Software Development Lifecycle; experience with Agile delivery models is a plus
- Technical knowledge in area such as application development or data analytics/science is preferred
- Familiarity with Airline Operations concepts, technology trends, and emerging capabilities is a strong advantage
- Effective verbal, written communication, and presentation skills in English, Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
- Familiar with Hong Kong Employee Ordinance & Employee Compensation Ordinance is beneficial
- Candidates with less experience may be considered as Solution Specialist
