Job Description:

A first-of-its-kind training facility in Dubai, the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) is located in Dubai South, Dubai World Central (DWC). With its unique facilities and resources, Emirates Flight Training Academy offers the opportunity to learn to fly in the most advanced flight training academy in the world. Our fully-operational flight operations centre is dedicated to Emirates Flight Training Academy cadets only, making flight training part of everyday life at the Academy. This means you will have the opportunity to gain a complete operational experience in one holistic environment.

A Commercial Business Analyst will support in driving business growth and profitability through comprehensive analysis, market research, and strategic insights, collaborate closely with various departments to evaluate commercial opportunities, optimise pricing strategies, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance our competitive position in the market, as well as ensure Emirates Flight Training Academys (EFTA) performance meets established standards and that financial activities are completed promptly.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage procurement for contract renewals and new contracts by assessing commercial risks, proposing mitigation plans, and participating in negotiations. Address and resolve billing queries promptly, aiming for timely settlements. Follow up with students for overdue payments, address any shortfalls with customers, and monitor bad debts to mitigate financial risks.

  • Provide commercial support and analysis for EFTA management decisions on significant projects and spending, collaborating with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Provide operational support for shop sales, cashiering, banking, and inventory management. Determine retail pricing for merchandise items.

  • Ensure timely approval of all service invoices, maintaining strict adherence to service and financial controls. Regularly update business leads on invoice settlement and payment status to prevent service disruptions. Engage with suppliers to address queries and facilitate prompt resolution.

  • Collaborate with business leads to compile essential commercial data for business case preparation regarding new capability development and capital expenditure for EFTA. Explore business opportunities through industry research, identifying innovative technologies or methods to enhance cost optimisation and revenue generation for the Academy.

  • Maintain regular communication with the FP&A team to ensure alignment of finance processes and procedures with group corporate policies and governance standards, particularly concerning invoice payments and revenue invoicing, and ensure proper documentation. Regularly review and benchmark implemented processes to measure and improve effectiveness, incorporating internal controls and reporting mechanisms as necessary.

  • Compile and consolidate monthly operational statistics, including training completion, aircraft flying hours, fuel consumption, and other relevant metrics for different sections of the Academy. Generate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards to provide EFTA management with a comprehensive view of performance indices for relevant managers. Collaborate with the FP&A team as needed to finalise the reports.
